A Rapid Result Strategy for the Road Public Passenger Transport Industry in Namibia

rapid result strategy namibiaThe Ministry of Works and Transport in collaboration with GIZ Transport Namibia has launched the Rapid Result Strategy for the Road Public Passenger Transport Industry in Namibia. The strategy was launched by the Deputy Minister Hon Sankwasa James Sankwasa in July. There is a clear indication of goals and objectives describing what to be achieved or which strategy to be implemented as well as the responsible institution and time frame. Amongst many objectives the Strategy aims at addressing major issues in the industry through the establishment of a National Taxi Board, the establishment of an effective Data Management System and the decentralization of the operations of the Transportation Board such as issuing of taxi permits.
Overall, the whole strategy should be fully implemented by 2017. Monitoring and evaluation will be a continuous practice throughout the implementation process. The project, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
